We will be going to the zoo this Saturday with family that is coming in town. That includes my husband's daughter, her husband and our granddaughter. There's things to plan before heading out that we need to cover.
- You want to make sure you have plenty of water to take with you. It's going to be a hot day so pack what is comfortable to carry. Also, check with the zoo to make sure it is okay to bring in unopened bottles of water and snacks.
- Bring snacks, not just for the grandchildren but for everyone. You will be doing a lot of walking and a snack will definitely help with your energy levels. Don't make them sugary snacks, but try to find something that has a mix of protein and flavor so that everyone is happy. Some items I bring are beef sticks, protein bars, peanut butter or cheese sandwich crackers and granola mix/bars. It's ok to bring a little candy..that's what Memaw's do!
- Don't rush your day. Especially if it's hot. Enjoy the exhibits and alternate indoor and outdoor activities. Allow yourself time to cool down. Also take advantage of the cooling water fans. Young and old alike love these!
I will update the blog with our zoo adventure and anything other fun things we may do this Marvelous weekend!
